This is a conceptual design for an exhibit showcasing a famous typographer, and the associated collateral that goes with it. The exhibit focuses on the works of Zuzana Licko and is centered on the phrase “Question the Obvious” which she stated when asked what her maxim would be. The idea was to showcase this maxim both in this project’s design aesthetics as well as the many ways she did in her own work. The bold colors are reflective of those popular in the works of her and her husband’s type foundry Emigre. The use of Crackly and the ribbed form of Modula as repetitive elements in this design project speaks to her breaking of traditional forms and embracing design outside the norm.
